Saxion Running For Judge in Cherokee County

Susie SaxionJACKSONVILLE — Republican Susie Saxion has announced her candidacy for judge of the 2nd District Court in Cherokee County. Saxion has served as Assistant Criminal District Attorney in Smith County for 17 years. She has been involved in in the prosecution of over 23,000 cases. She has served as lead counsel or 2nd chair in over 100 trials. Saxion is a graduate of Bullard public schools and earned her JD/MBA from Texas Tech University in 1998 and was admitted to the State Bar of Texas the same year.

“It is important to the people of Cherokee County and all of East Texas that we have fair, open-minded, experienced and well qualified judges who make critical decisions that affect our communities. As a Texas Tech law graduate. licensed attorney and experienced prosecutor, I know first-had the importance of a judge who fairly but firmly applies the law. I look forward to the opportunity to earn your vote,” Saxion said in making her announcement Monday.

She went on to say, “Although the 2nd Judicial District Court does handle civil cases, the workload of this court deals with felony criminal cases and the lives, safety and happiness of so many people in Cherokee County. My years of experience as a prosecutor have uniquely prepared me to provide the judicial services that the people of Cherokee County should demand from their judges.”
