East Texas Welcomes Blue Bell Back to Stores

TYLER — After months of unavailability in the aftermath of a listeria outbreak, Blue Bell ice cream returned to East Texas store shelves Monday. Johnny Lewsader was just one of countless customers who enthusiastically welcomed the tasty treat back. Lewsader told KETK, “I think they took the right measure to protect their customers, so we’re happy they’re back, and we’re gonna be excited about eating Blue Bell again.” A couple of Blue Bell employees voiced similar feelings. Curtis Pomykal said, “I feel very blessed. To have something go through what we went through and have such an awesome customer base that will welcome us back with open arms — it’s very humbling.” Jenny Van Dorf chimed in, “It’s been incredible. We’ve received letters over time, we’ve seen social media posts and emails — and really, just that outcry for people wanting to know when it’s coming back.”
