East Texan’s Sentence Commuted by President Obama

tommyjohnson_1450468737896_6046061_ver1.0WASHINGTON, D.C. — President Obama has granted commutations of sentence to 95 people, including an East Texan, and pardoned two others. KETK reports the president commuted the sentence of Tommy Lynn Johnson, 60, of Athens. He was sentenced to 511 months in prison and five years supervised release for a variety of drug and weapon charges. Among others, those included conspiracy to manufacture, distribute, and possess with intent to manufacture and distribute methamphetamine; and possession of a firearm in furtherance of a drug trafficking crime. Johnson’s sentence was amended to 481 months in prison on October 6, 2015, with his term expiring on April 16, 2016.
