Longview Police Hand Out Gift Cards

LONGVIEW — A couple of Longview police officers handed out gift cards last night, instead of tickets. An anonymous donor gave the police department gift cards with the instructions to spread some Christmas cheer to those doing the right thing in Longview. So the two officers drove around town looking for pedestrians and drivers obeying the traffic laws and showing kindness to others.

According to the police department’s Facebook page, the list was long:
They met a lady who stopped at the crosswalk of a major retail store to let the pedestrians cross across the driveway.
They met a grandmother raising all of her grandchildren on a fixed income.
They met a man in one of the toughest areas of town obeying a traffic law where most people in that area wouldn’t give it a second thought.
They met a man who used his blinker correctly and donated his gift card to another person he felt needed it more than he did.
And the list goes on…………
