ETCF Accepting Applications for Peace Officers/Firefighters Scholarship

TYLER — East Texas Communities Foundation (ETCF) is currently accepting applications for the Peace Officers and Firefighters Scholarship. This $500 scholarship will be awarded to the child of an active duty peace officer or professional firefighter. Eligible students have until March 1 at 5:00 p.m. to submit their applications online.

Any eligible student must be a graduating high school senior with a minimum 3.0 GPA (on a 4.0 scale). Each eligible student must be the dependent child of an individual currently employed as a Peace Officer or professional Firefighter as defined by the State of Texas Government Code 614 in one of the 32 counties in ETCF’s service area. The 32 counties served by ETCF are: Anderson, Angelina, Bowie, Camp, Cass, Cherokee, Delta, Franklin, Freestone, Gregg, Harrison, Henderson, Hopkins, Houston, Lamar, Leon, Marion, Morris, Nacogdoches, Panola, Rains, Red River, Rusk, Sabine, San Augustine, Shelby, Smith, Titus, Trinity, Upshur, Van Zandt and Wood.
