police-lights-3LUFKIN — Lufkin-area law enforcement officials are working to solve three open burglary cases that occurred near the end of 2015. Police said on the night of December 27, several masked burglars pried open a door to Massingill Meat Market on Highway 69 North. The thieves damaged the inside of the business before taking off with a safe, then abandoning it behind the building. The following night, Little Caesar’s Pizza and Renfro’s Packing were also burglarized for their safes, according to Deep East Texas Crime Stoppers.

Video surveillance from Renfro’s shows three masked burglars breaking in through a window and attempting to carry away a safe to large for them. A fourth thief wearing a camouflage pattern hooded jacket stood outside. Cameras at Little Caesar’s captured video of three masked burglars prying open a door and dragging away a safe. The safe was brought behind the building. Video also shows a Ford F150, possibly silver in color, stopping behind the building, likely to pick up the safe, and then leaving.
