Two Smith County Shooting Suspects Identified
Posted/updated on: April 1, 2016 at 4:23 pmTYLER – Two more suspects have been identified in connection with a high speed chase in Smith County. During the chase on March 21st, shots were fired at pursuing sheriff’s deputies. No one was injured. The driver of the vehicle, Jeremy Robinson, 32, of Hutchins, was arrested following surveillance at Tyler’s Residence Inn. He was charged with aggravated assault on a peace officer.
Investigators have now identified two shooting suspects and warrants issued charging them with two counts of aggravated assault on a public servant. The warrants were issued by 241st State District Court Judge Jack Skeen, Jr. who set bonds on each count at $3,000,000. They are identified as Ricardo Martinez Pineda, 36, and Juan Alberto Quiroga, 17, both of Tyler.
According to investigators, an AK 47 type assault weapon and an AR 15 type assault weapon were used against the deputies. The gunfire is said to have come from the front passenger side and rear windows.
Sheriff Larry Smith said both suspects are considered to be armed and dangerous and if they are located extreme caution should be taken by law enforcement. If located by any citizen, please do not attempt to approach them and immediately call 911 with your information.
