Smith County Storm Aftermath Update

DAMAGE1_1461982234599_8348573_ver1.0TYLER — Smith County officials have updated conditions around the county in the aftermath of weekend storms. Due to high water, County Roads 420 and 421 have been added to the list of Smith County road closures. The remainder of the road closures are the same as they were on Saturday.

County Roads in the Lindale, Whitehouse, Troup, and Arp areas that remained closed due to weekend storms include:
CR 323 (trees)
CR 4219 (house in street)
CR 4104 (between FM 16 and FM 2710 is cleared down to one lane)
CR 4104 (between FM 16 and CR 4105 is completely closed)
CR 2138 (south of Highway 110, trees and flooding)
CR 450 (between CR 445 and FM 1253 (culvert wash out)
CR 294 (between Highway 135 and CR 258 washed out)
CR 294 (between CR 299 and 2201 washed out)
CR 223 (damaged but not closed, cones being used)
CR 121 (water over the road, road ripped in half)

CR 369

The Fire Marshal’s Office worked all night Friday and all day Saturday and Sunday, assessing the damage from the tornadoes in the Lindale area. They expect to complete the assessment today, and will then begin assessing the flood damages in the Whitehouse/Troup area. The shelter at the First Methodist Church in Lindale will be closed today unless it is found to be needed.
