Disaster Declaration Issued for City of Whitehouse

WHITEHOUSE CITY_1445007045858_5202816_ver1.0WHITEHOUSE — City of Whitehouse Mayor Charles Parker has issued a disaster declaration in conjunction with Smith County. According to KETK, City spokesman Madison Johnson said citizen are encouraged to fill out forms declaring estimates of damage received on Friday, April 29th during flash floods. The form can be found on the city’s website or Facebook page. Johnson also said it’s important citizens keep good records of expenses incurred by storm cleanup.

Debris and trash from the flooding may be dropped off at the corner of Railroad and Main Street, directly across the street from the City of Whitehouse Fire Department. Starting today, members from First Baptist Church, Whitehouse Police, Whitehouse Fire, Victims Relief Foundation and Whitehouse Ministerial Alliance will meet and assemble to canvas neighborhoods to distribute forms and fulfill needs. Citizens from outside the city limits need to contact Smith County Sheriff’s Department Emergency Management Coordinator Connie McCoy or Assistant Emergency Management Coordinator Mae Burger at 903-590-2652.
