Boil Water Notice for Palestine
Posted/updated on: May 27, 2016 at 11:18 amPALESTINE – A boil water notice has been issued for the city of Palestine. It was issued because of a break in a 10″ main line in the 1600 block of Court Drive. Residents who use city water west of Loop 256 and U.S. Highway 79, West Oak Street, and areas north and south of U.S. 79 will be directly affected. The boil order will be lifted when water reaches testing standards set by the Texas Commission on Environmental Quality.
To ensure destruction of all harmful bacteria and other microbes, water for drinking, cooking, and making ice should be boiled and cooled prior to use. The water should be brought to a vigorous, rolling boil and then boiled for two minutes. In lieu of boiling, you may purchase bottled water or obtain water from some other suitable source. The city will notify residents when the boil water notice is lifted.
