The case, prosecuted by the Texas Attorney General, was no-billed this week by a Wood County grand jury. According to KETK, no information was ever disclosed on the person or people prosecuted, and no arrests or persons of interest were ever publicly released.

The 16-month-old’s July 2015 autopsy determined the cause of death to be homicide. The toddler died from blunt force trauma to the head. Medical officials said the child was declared “brain dead” at Children’s Medical Center in Dallas and pronounced dead on April 11, 2015. The Winnsboro Police Department stated the day of the no-bill was “very sad” and “disappointing” for the department. “The guilty will be punished in the end and we are going to try to make sure justice is meted out for little Madison,” police stated on their Facebook page.
