State District Judge Brad Morin then sentenced him to 51 years in prison. The sentence stems from the January stabbing death of 50-year-old Melinda Billingsley, of Marshall. She was found inside a home on Red Wood Trail. She later died at a Marshall hospital. Nankervis was found in the front yard of the home. He was originally charged with aggravated assault. After her death, it was upgraded to murder.
