Smith County Wreck Claims Another Life

SMITH COUNTY- A second person has died from a Smith County accident earlier this month. The wreck occurred Saturday afternoon, December 3rd, on State Highway 31 about nine miles west of Kilgore. Killed the day of the accident was Mark Trippit, 56, of Kilgore. Monday morning, Jack Ward, 78, of Henderson, died at Tyler’s East Texas Medical Center. Two were injured in the wreck. The Department of Public Safety reports the accident occurred when an east bound Ford Expedition crossed into oncoming traffic, hitting a Chevrolet Traverse head-on.
