Smith County Robbery Probed

TYLER – Smith County Sheriff’s deputies are looking for two persons who robbed a man north of Tyler. It happened shortly after 1:15 Friday afternoon in a business parking lot on U.S. Highway 271 at Interstate Highway 20. The victim had gone there to meet a person to sell a cell phone. He was approached by two black males with a handgun who stole his phone. They fled in a in a tan Mercury Grand Marquis. A black woman was seen in the vehicle. No one was injured during the offense. Deputies searched the area but were unable to locate the suspects. The investigation is active and ongoing.
