KETK reports board members voted Monday night to make a counter offer to the Yamboree. Under the deal, the Yamboree would get the land, but both entities would contribute $50,000 for a splash pad within the city. This year’s Yamboree celebrations kicked off Wednesday in Gilmer. This year’s queen-elect is Madison Dean (pictured with Yamboree President Brandon Garmon). Headlining the festival’s barn dance this year is country music star Jack Ingram.
