One Injured in Officer Involved Shooting in Anderson County

It all started as an officer tried to stop a vehicle with two persons around 11:00 Friday morning. But it wouldn’t stop and officers chased into it into the county. When they finally got the vehicle stopped, The passenger pulled a gun. An officer shot the man. He was taken to a Tyler hospital where he is being treated for a life threatening injury. His name has not been released. The other person, a woman who was driving, was not injured, and was questioned. No officers were injured. At a late afternoon news conference, police chief Andy Harvey said that they believe the man was involved in methamphetamine distribution. The Department of Public Safety and Texas Rangers are investigating the shooting.
